Technical Writer (HU)
Omixon is searching for an experienced Technical Writer to join our team. The Technical Writer is a key company member and reports directly to the Software Team Leader.
To be successful in this role, you must have a relevant degree and at least 2 years of recent work experience (without a degree, at least 4 years of work experience) as a technical writer.
Responsibilities:
- Create and update customer-facing software and physical product documentation. These include:
- Release notes/Summary of changes
- Instructional documentation
- Reference documentation
- Create and update internal technical documentation. These include:
- Algorithm description
- Architecture documentation
- Verification and validation documents
- Software requirements specification
- Create or assist in the creation of various types of document templates
- Assist in the creation of administrative and regulatory documentation. Most of these documents you will have to co-author, but some of them you’ll have to create and maintain independently
- Help the team understand and use Confluence better and assist with basic admin duties
- Lead process and document quality improvement efforts in your area
Required Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills)
- 2 years (with a relevant degree) or 4 years (without a degree) of experience as a technical writer
- High level of technical English language knowledge
- Knowledge of how to write user-centred, easy-to-understand instructional and reference documentation about complex products and topics
- Excellent working knowledge of XML-based authoring tools and Microsoft Office products,
- Good working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Git or similar ticketing, wiki, and version control tools
- Basic image editing skills, such as cropping, removing backgrounds from images, and so on
You will stand out if you have one or more of the following:
- Worked in a heavily regulated industry before, and you aren’t afraid to work in one again
- Worked for an R&D company before, ideally in the medical domain
- Experience with Confluence as an authoring tool
- Experience writing documentation both for software and physical products
- Experience writing diagrams instead of drawing them using a tool like PlantUML
- Advanced image editing skills, such as the ability to create Simplified User Interface (SUI) images
