As we all know, the COVID-19 infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV2 virus has spread globally. It is a significant and urgent medical threat with serious implications on our personal life and global economy. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to identify biomarkers that can accurately predict the outcome of COVID-19 disease in individual patients. Here, we propose that genetic variation in the adaptive immune system – and the MHC genotype in particular – shapes patient survival. Specifically, we seek collaborator partners to study the association between immune genotype and COVID-19 disease recovery, with the ultimate aim to identify reliable genetic biomarkers.
