Workshop Content

  • Time: 60 minute sessions will start at 10am, 11:30am and 1pm
  • Format: 15 minutes presentation, 45 minutes live working groups including Q&A
  • What to bring: Nothing – laptops and everything else (including snacks!) will be provided

Sessions are limited to 15 seats each, final availability will be confirmed at registration.

 

Presenters

Peter Meintjes, PhD (Director, US Operations)

Peter has a passion for driving commercial success through disruptive innovations in biotechnology and medicine and is currently the Director of US Operations at Omixon. He is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing Holotype HLA and the sales process from business development through account management and post-sales support. Peter has over five years experience in international Business Development, Sales and Marketing of software products for Genomics and Molecular Biology and has a technical background, with a PhD in microbial genomics from the University of Auckland and is an expert in DNA Sequencing, Microbiology, Genetics/Genomics, Evolution and Bioinformatics Software.

Efi Melista (Field Application Scientist)

Efi is Omixon’s Field Application Scientist in Europe. A geneticist by training who quickly started working on a variety of research projects at Boston University, MA, including studies on the genetic basis of sickle cell anemia disease, β-thalassaemia, cardiac disease, Alzheimer’s disease, PTSD and even longevity. Her love and fascination for technology allowed her to accumulate immense experience in cutting-edge technologies used in genomics and molecular diagnostics, including extensive hands-on work on several Next Generation Sequencing platforms and chemistries.

Agnes Pasztor (Customer Support Manager)

Agnes has vocational training in Economical Informatics and is currently studying towards a Bsc in Biology. Experienced software tester with background in banking environments and testing automation. At Omixon, Agnes is responsible for customer support and application testing.
