Technical Support Engineer (Full-time Afternoon / Evening Shift)

Our team provides technical support to clients in their requests within 48 hours by investigating and reproducing, resolving customer issues. To cover the North, Central and South American markets, we are seeking for a new member for a fix afternoon / evening shift (16:00 PM-00:00 PM) working mainly remotely. As a part of the Technical Support Team. You will provide technical support via email and schedule web-meetings in urgent cases to give a high-level support as upon required. This role also gives the opportunity going on a few business trips a year when you may be asked to demonstrate the new function of the product internally for training purposes – visiting our partners and clients and contribute to thrive in their businesses as well.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT and/or Bio-IT field (molecular biology, genomics or similar will be advantageous)

  • 1+ years in a Technical Support role at a company with a scientific focus
  • At least basic coding experience, networking and command line tools
  • Be familiar with Windows systems on an administrator level, have a moderate level of knowledge using Linux systems
  • Strong business English knowledge on a conversational level

Advantageous Skills

  • Comfortable with NGS analysis software programs
  • Knowledge in genetics or biology

What will you do? (Key Responsibilities)

  • Triage level response to all Americas-based technical support questions
  • Running tests in Omixon’s server-client and standalone Java applications, including several editions, versions and optional modules of each
  • Guide creation
  • Assist with Workshops, on-site installation
  • Log Support Cases with Jira and other internal systems
  • Work closely and collaborate with the other Omixon teams
